For our wire edge binding tutorial we recommend using a drill bit made for a mechanical paper drill rather than a hole punch (generally conical).
Tip! Hit the paper drill bit with a soft faced hammer (to avoid damaging the drill bit). Use a hard board or cutting mat as a punching support.
